What metal for quite a lot of the time of existence of the Ottoman empire was more precious than gold?

Well! This is a tricky question!! Gold was the ruler of precious metal until the scarcity of silver came into play- then silver was much more valuable than gold as gold depleted in value.. then the Ottoman Empire was flooded with gold, but becoming much poorer with the influx of the gold market. Copper became the ruling metal for a bit, but the Empire was declining rapidly, and eventually, collapsed.
So, until the influx of the silver trade, SILVER was more precious than gold for a very long time in the Ottoman Empire.
