Since lighter colored eyes are more sensitive to light than darker colored eyes, then theoretically, darkly colored eyes would be able to see best in the dark.
Aniridia is a congenital condition characterized by an extremely underdeveloped iris which appears absent on superficial examination. These eyes appear to have no iris and seem as if they are just extremely large pupils. This would actually be the "darkest" of eye color. But, this is a condition which affects the vision, therefore, these eyes aren't going to be very good in the dark.. or in the light.
But, actually, eye color has nothing to do with vision at all, it is merely the pigment of the iris surrounding the pupil. Vision, day or night, is not determined by the iris. It is determined by rods and cones in the eyes, which are used during dark adaptation. Rods are more sensitive to light and so take longer to fully adapt to the change in light. This can take up to a few hours to completely regenerate. Cones take approximately 9 minutes to adapt to the dark.
